COPY - CNC Router Operator

Job Summary

Insight Globals client is seeking a skilled CNC Router Operator to join their manufacturing team. This role involves setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC routing machines to produce precision parts and components from materials such as wood, plastic, metal, and composites. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret blueprints and CAD files to ensure high-quality output.

Key Responsibilities

Set up and operate CNC router machines to cut, shape, and finish various materials.

Interpret and analyze engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD files to determine machining processes.

Load materials and tools into machines and make necessary adjustments for accurate machining.

Monitor machine operations to ensure quality and efficiency, making real-time adjustments as needed.

Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting to minimize downtime.

Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.

Maintain a clean and safe work area, following all safety protocols and company policies.

Collaborate with production and engineering teams to improve processes and resolve issues.

Document production activities, including setup details, machine logs, and quality control reports.

Skills and Requirements

12 years of experience operating CNC routers or similar machinery.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and CAD files.

Proficiency in machine setup, operation, and basic troubleshooting.

Familiarity with CAM software (e.g., Fusion 360, Mastercam).

Experience using precision measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers).

Strong attention to detail and mechanical aptitude.

Ability to follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment.

High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred. Experience working with multiple materials (wood, plastic, metal, composites).

Background in sign manufacturing, cabinetry, or precision machining.

Ability to optimize tool paths or suggest process improvements.
