Steel Project Coordinator | Washington DC Area

Commercial & Industrial Projects | $90,000 to $120,000

Join an established custom steel fabricator leading complex, engineered-to-order construction packages from pre-construction through final installation. This role involves coordination across design, production, and field operations, with a strong emphasis on schedule control and site execution for commercial and light industrial projects.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate with drafting/detailing teams and monitor drawing timelines.

• Communicate with designers and construction teams to gather and clarify project requirements.

• Conduct field measurements and align with adjacent trades.

• Manage schedules for fabrication, delivery, and installation.

• Oversee on-site activities and resolve field-level issues.

• Price and track change orders; negotiate with general contractors or owners.

• Work with internal teams on budgeting and project financials.

• Prepare close-out documentation and maintain professional relationships with clients and field crews.

• Travel to regional job sites as needed, mostly within driving distance.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of experience managing fabrication and field installation projects involving custom metal systems like s tairs, handrails, ladders, platforms, and other functional or decorative steel elements

• Strong communication and scheduling skills.

• Proven ability to navigate complex, multi-phase commercial construction jobs.

• Professional communication skills with experience dealing with owners and subcontractors.
