Senior Contracts Manager

A Senior Contracts Manager is needed for a global engineering, construction and project management company in the Houston, TX area. This Senior Contracts Manager role overseeing complex, high-value Canadian construction projects with contract strategy, execution, negotiation, and compliance using NEC/FIDIC models, along with leadership, stakeholder engagement, and Canadian regulatory expertise.

responsibilities:

• Define contracting strategy with input from clients and project functions.
  
  
• Develop mechanisms for monitoring (sub)contract compliance.
  
  
• Lead team in establishing contracting management systems, procedures, and controls.
  
  
• Analyze contracts to identify and mitigate risks, ambiguities, and deviations from scope.
  
  
• Advise Project Manager and Client on risk mitigation and compensation events.
  
  
• Conduct financial analysis of contracts; establish large-scale budgets and KPIs.
  
  
• Provide reviews, audits, and process improvements for contract-related issues.
  
  
• Share lessons learned with the corporate contracts function to enhance tools and training.
  
  
• Proficiency in all stages of (sub)contract management: prequalification, bidding, evaluation, award, performance monitoring, claims, and dispute resolution.
  
  
• strong understanding of NEC, FIDIC, JCT, ICE contract forms.
  
  
• Experienced in reviewing/redlining commercial terms, including milestone payments, LDs, safety, and scheduling.

• Experience managing large-scale budgets and contracts in complex stakeholder environments.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree and at least 10 years of experience in aspects of Contracts Management/Administration or
  
  
• At least 15 years of experience in Contracts.
