Senior Estimator
Location: Spartanburg, SC
Compensation: Negotiable
Travel Required: 25%85%
We are seeking a Senior Estimator to lead the preparation of accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for large-scale industrial construction projects, including manufacturing plants, warehouses, and processing facilities. This role requires strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of construction processes, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities-
Analyze drawings, specifications, and project documentation to create detailed cost estimates

Prepare and coordinate full-project bids including labor, materials, equipment, subcontractor quotes, and general conditions

Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits to evaluate project scope, risks, and feasibility

Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement value engineering strategies

Maintain and utilize historical cost data for benchmarking and budget forecasting

Collaborate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather accurate pricing

Develop scope of work documents and bid packages

Present finalized estimates and proposals to internal leadership or external clients

Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)

7+ years of estimating experience in industrial construction

Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite

In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, labor productivity, and cost control

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple bids and tight deadlines

Experience estimating mechanical and electrical engineering installations for industrial equipment

Solid foundation in mechanical principles

Commercial and project management skills including quoting, budgeting, and negotiations

Understanding of OSHA standards and regulatory compliance

Familiarity with accounting procedures and final cost reconciliation

Project Management certifications or training preferred

Ability to obtain contractor licenses as needed
Technical:

Proficient in reading blueprints and technical specifications

Strong grasp of construction materials and methods

Understanding of relevant building codes and safety standards
Financial & Analytical:

Skilled in cost analysis, budgeting, and risk mitigation

Ability to apply value engineering to maintain quality while reducing costs
Leadership & Communication:

Collaborative team player with the ability to lead estimation efforts

Skilled in stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and bid development

This is an office-based position with regular travel (25%85%) to project sites and pre-bid meetings.
