Excavator Operator Needed ASAP

Superior Skilled Trades is seeking Heavy Equipment Operators to operate a an Excavator with long reach experience in South Bay, FL.

HOURS: Expected shifts will be 7AM-7PM or 7PM-7AM Days and nights available

SCHEDULE: Expected Work will be Monday-Saturday 72+ hours

START DATE: ASAP

DURATION: This is anticipated to be at least a 6-month contract position

Heavy Equipment Operator Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Excavator Operator with over 10 years of experience, including advanced long reach excavating in challenging environments such as shoreline, deep trenching, and slope stabilization work. This role is critical for precision earthwork operations in both land and water-based projects.

Responsibilities:
Operate long reach hydraulic excavators safely and efficiently on a variety of job sites (dredging, pond work, marine construction, etc.).
Perform detailed trenching, grading, and material movement in confined or sensitive environments.
Read and interpret project plans, blueprints, and grade stakes.
Conduct daily equipment inspections and perform minor maintenance.
Work closely with site supervisors and project managers to ensure work meets job specifications and timelines.
Load and offload materials safely around other crew members and equipment.

Qualifications for Heavy Equipment Operator:
Minimum 10 years of verifiable experience operating excavators, including at least 5 years with long reach machines.
Experience working on shoreline, marine, deep excavation, or wetland projects preferred.
Strong understanding of excavation safety, soil types, and sloping/shoring best practices.
Ability to work in a physically demanding outdoor environment.
Must be able to safely use hand/power tools and PPE
Must be able to perform job duties that require standing, crouching, twisting upper body, working at heights, and lifting up to 50 lbs. unassisted
Position requires the use of PPE, including: Steel-Toe work boots, safety vest, hard hat, safety glasses, and gloves.
Drug and background screen required

Must be eligible to work in the United States
Must have reliable transportation to the job site
Depending on assignment, applicants may be subject to pre-employment drug screen.
