Job Description
BURNCO is seeking a full time Drafting/Survey Technician (DST) based in our Regional Colorado Office. Reporting to the Land & Environment Manager, the DST is responsible for overseeing the creation and maintenance of drawing files using AutoCAD Civil 3D and other software as required by BURNCO for aggregate pits and ready mix concrete plant sites located in Colorado and Texas. In addition, the DST will be responsible for carrying out drone flights to gather data in support of site planning and operations.
The ideal candidate must be detail oriented and take pride in high quality standards. The candidate will possess two years of experience and hold a Drafting or Geomatics technical diploma or equivalent. We offer competitive salary and benefits.

Key Responsibilities
- Creating Technical drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D and other software
- Maintaining standard site drawings and archives for all BURNCO sites
- Conducting aerial drone surveys
- Creating exploration plans and drill hole layouts
- Mapping drill hole log information and generating geological 3D models, surfaces and cross-sections
- Completing quantity take offs
- Calculating stockpile volumes and reservoir volumes
- Assisting in mine progression planning
- Coordinate site staking and survey work as needed to achieve onsite activities
- Coordinating utility locates and crossing agreements
- Keeping abreast of technological developments in the mapping field
- Supervising and coordinating third party surveyors
- Other assignments and responsibilities as required from time to time
- Follow BURNCO mission, vision, and values in all aspects of job performance
Key Qualifications & Skills
- Post-secondary Technical Diploma
- Proficient in AutoCAD Civil3D and MS Office applications
- Knowledgeable about Survey Techniques and methodology
- Knowledgeable about GIS data, e.g. Global Mapper
- Experience in the aggregate business or as a drone pilot will be considered an asset
- Possess valid Class 5 Drivers License
- Role will involve some travel (10%-25%)
Rate or Range: $65,000 and up
