Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for creating detailed technical drawings and plans for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems using CAD software.
This role requires collaboration with engineers and project managers to ensure designs meet project specifications, industry standards, and client expectations.
Drafting and Design: Produce accurate 2D and 3D drawings for MEP systems, including HVAC, electrical layouts, plumbing, and fire protection systems, using AutoCAD, Revit, or other BIM software.
Coordination: Collaborate with MEP engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure designs align with project requirements and resolve design conflicts.
Documentation: Prepare and maintain detailed documentation, including schematics, specifications, and as-built drawings.
Compliance: Ensure all drawings comply with applicable codes, standards (e.g., ASHRAE, NEC, NFPA), and client specifications.
Project Support: Assist in reviewing shop drawings, responding to RFIs (Requests for Information), and supporting project teams during construction phases.
Quality Control: Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to Engineering's quality standards.
Software Proficiency: Utilize CAD/BIM tools to create and modify drawings, incorporating revisions as directed by project teams.
Time Management: Meet project deadlines while maintaining high standards of accuracy and quality.
Qualifications
Education: Associate's degree or technical certification in drafting, CAD design, or a related field.
Experience: 2-5 years of experience as an MEP Draftsman or similar role, preferably in commercial, institutional, or industrial projects.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other BIM software.
Knowledge of MEP systems (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection).
Familiarity with building codes and industry standards (e.g., IBC, ASHRAE, NEC).
