Position Description:

As the leading provider of products and systems for the specialty mail order industry, CMM delivers an unequaled depth and breadth of innovation serving a variety of industries. This position is an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer to join the engineering department in Longmont, CO. The Mechanical Engineers duties support the manufacturing, design, and testing of the companys ever evolving product line. In addition to overall engineering responsibilities of organization and cleanliness, the position also requires developing project designs, drawings, calculations, and other documentation utilized by internal and external customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain documentation to support assembly and installation of machines and equipment.
  • Follow best practices for design and CAD file management.
  • Provide support for other Engineers, Customers, and Technicians to troubleshoot issues in the office or field.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities during product development and production.
  • Develop and perform testing protocols of the companys product line.
  • Support troubleshooting development and production issues in a timely manner.
  • Perform highly detailed work on multiple concurrent tasks.
  • Interact with managers, staff, customers, the public, and others during work.

Shift Details : 9/80 Work Schedule (9 Hrs. M-Th, 8 Hrs. every other Friday)

Critical Skills:

  • Experience designing parts and assemblies in SolidWorks or similar CAD program.
  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others using spoken and written word.
  • Ability to effectively build relationships with customers and co-workers.
  • Ability to persuade a group of people to work toward a common goal.
  • Demonstrated mechanical skills in a hands-on environment.
  • Microsoft Office and Google Docs proficiency.
  • Strong project & cross functional skills.
  • Customer service minded.

Desired Knowledge & Skills:

  • Experience in automation industry
  • Sheet metal and injection molding design
  • Machining familiarity
  • Vault PDM familiarity
  • Machine design experience
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.

Education:

  • Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent. Will consider a candidate with associate degree and relevant experience.

Physical Requirements

  • Overnight and out of state travel varies but may be up to 25%
  • When assisting with installs must have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. of equipment and components
  • Ability to sit, walk, stand, etc. during on-site projects.
