Job Title: Mechanical Engineer II
Job Description
As a Mechanical Engineer II, you are an experienced Professional Engineer (PE) or pursuing licensure with a background in generating and translating mechanical systems into final solutions for various project building types as part of a multi-disciplinary project team. You support the Mechanical Engineering discipline in designing and developing mechanical systems, including load analysis, equipment sizing, ductwork sizing, fire protection, plumbing, and hydronic systems for various project building types within established design principles, project budget, and schedule. You will work within a multi-disciplinary project team, providing technical design expertise and assistance during the various phases of projects.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the work of the mechanical design team through the schematic design development and construction document phase of a project.
- Establish meetings and participate in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance.
- Conduct work sessions or meetings at project sites in conjunction with the Project Manager and other disciplines.
- Determine and promote the best use of design software/technology, including Revit, AutoCAD, BSD Speclink, and other emerging technologies, for presentation and production purposes.
- Prepare building models, detailed contract documents, construction documents, load analysis, equipment sizing, ductwork sizing, hydronic system design, plumbing design, fire suppression design, and specifications consistent with company standards.
- Coordinate technical components of projects with other internal disciplines and outside consultants.
- Assist Senior Mechanical Engineer with the preparation of engineering proposals, as needed.
- Assist the Senior Mechanical Engineer in monitoring budget and schedule.
- Oversee and produce contract documents that are efficient and consistent with the scope of work, schedule, and fee allotted to complete the work.
- Foster a personal commitment and hold others accountable to a high level of external and internal client service.
- Exhibit a level of comfort and confidence with client representatives regarding your area of expertise.
- Maintain a positive relationship of trust with Client Leadership and Technical Leaders regarding your area of expertise.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an EAC/ABET-accredited program or equivalent in education and experience.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with current license OR ability to obtain a PE.
- 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering with diverse project experience.
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with Project, SharePoint, and Teams preferred.
- CSI-CDT certification (training provided if needed).
- LEED AP BD+C and WELL AP certifications.
- NCEES registration and NSPE membership preferred.
Work Environment

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $100000.00/yr.
