Project Manager

Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their team in Nanaimo, BC. This role involves overseeing projects from award to completion, focusing on safety, quality, schedule, cost control, and client relations. The position may include both long and short-term remote field assignments throughout BC and into the Yukon.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a company representative, fostering positive relationships with corporate management, site supervisors, clients, subcontractors, and other contractors.
  • Manage contract administration, ensuring submittals are approved on schedule and project deliverables align with the project plan.
  • Develop and implement detailed project execution plans, including schedules, procurement plans, and safety, quality, and environmental plans.
  • Coordinate procurement to ensure timely delivery of materials and subcontractor coordination.
  • Use appropriate systems, tools, and techniques to measure project performance and track metrics.
  • Manage changes to project scope, schedule, and costs using change management techniques.
  • Ensure project deliverables align with contract documents and specifications.
  • Prepare and submit monthly progress billing, monitoring project activity and reporting to management.
  • Collaborate with the Site Supervisor to ensure subcontractor accountability for cost, schedule, and safety.
  • Monitor and maintain the project baseline schedule with required updates.
  • Ensure quality control documentation is maintained throughout the project.
  • Complete all project reporting as required and establish weekly meetings to review project status.
  • Manage project budget with monthly profitability forecasting.
  • Oversee project close-out and document lessons learned.
  • Perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
  • 5+ years of experience in a Project Management role
  • Experience working on the tools and creating project schedules
  • Experience in contracts administration and drafting
  • Proficiency in MS Project
  • Ability to manage projects remotely from the office
  • Experience handling change orders
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with LUMP SUM contracts/projects
  • General Contractor (GC) experience
  • Passion for projects and pride in work
Work Environment

The position is based in an office in Nanaimo, BC, with travel to project sites about once a quarter for a week.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $130000.00 - $140000.00/yr.
