Key Responsibilities of a System Engineering Architect:

  • Collaborate with product management, engineering and operations to analyze and define business requirements, identify system needs, and design solutions that address those needs.
  • Lead the architecture and design of systems that are robust, scalable, and maintainable, considering factors like performance, security, and cost.
  • Oversee the implementation of the designed architecture, collaborating with engineering teams and ensuring alignment with architectural vision.
  • Identify and resolve complex design issues, address performance bottlenecks, and ensure the system functions as intended.
  • Work closely with stakeholders, including business users, developers, and other engineers, to ensure alignment and successful implementation.
  • Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and technical audits to ensure architectural integrity
  • Create and maintain documents relating to architectural designs, specifications, and implementation instructions.
  • Participate in testing and verification activities to ensure the system meets functional requirements.
  • Stay abreast of new technologies and evaluate their applicability to the system architecture.
  • Mentor and guide engineering teams in systems thinking, architecture principles, and design patterns.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain a Secret clearance and a Top Secret or TS/SCI or higher clearance.
  • Four-year college degree in electrical engineering or related technical discipline, plus a minimum of 12 years of related experience, or a masters degree with 8 years of experience.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Proven experience in systems architecture, systems engineering, and cross-functional technical leadership
  • Ability to effectively interface with stakeholders, and deal professionally and effectively with employees and managers at all levels both within and outside of the engineering organization.
  • Must be able to work under project deadline pressures, and associated cost and schedule constraints.
  • Strong understanding of Data Links for military communications
  • Experience with various wireless hardware and software technologies.
  • Experience with mission simulation software and physics-based analysis
  • Proficiency in relevant design and modeling tools including DOORS and Cameo System Architect
  • Ability to analyze complex systems and identify potential issues.
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills.

Cubic Pay Range:

$160,000.00 - $187,797.00 + benefits.

The Cubic pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
