(8094) Fill Plant Supervisor - American Welding & Gas

American Welding & Gas, Inc. - Has an immediate opportunity for a FILL PLANT SUPERVISOR at our Springfield , MO . Location.

Position Summary - Lead the plant team of 2-4 teammates safely in efficient production and repackaging of compressed and specialty gases for industrial, medical, and food-grade applications. Oversee all fill operations, quality control, production planning/ scheduling, safety compliance, and team development to meet customer demand and maintain AWG & industry plant standards.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise daily fill-plant activities: pre-fill inspections, filling, labeling, cylinder analysis/quarantine, and loading.

• Maintain accurate documentation of fill records, quality checks, and incident reports.

• Hire, train, schedule, coach, and evaluate fill-plant operators and support staff.

• Identify and implement process improvements to boost efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance cylinder throughput.

• Oversee plant facility maintenance, equipment calibration, and inventory of cylinders and supplies.

• Support lean, quality, and cost-control initiatives in collaboration with management.

• Foster teamwork, address performance issues, and recognize high achievement.

• Develop and champion a robust safety culture; conduct regular safety training, toolbox talks, and equipment inspections.

Qualifications & Education Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required ; bachelors degree in a technical or business field preferred.

• 35 years in gas cylinder filling, industrial or chemical manufacturing; previous supervisory experience required .

• 3-5 years of supervisory experience

• In-depth knowledge of industrial gas operations and regulations (DOT, OSHA, HazMat); experience with cGMP a plus .

• Forklift certification preferred ; must be able to lift/maneuver heavy cylinders and operate warehouse equipment.
