Position Summary:
TTM is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer. Responsibilities include leading the research, analysis, design and development of mechanical hardware for electronic equipment for a program and/or product line. Must have a background that would permit the U.S. Department of Defense to issue a Secret Clearance, which includes US Citizenship.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversees all program and product line activities, inclusive of mechanical engineering research, finite element analysis, physical design and drafting/documentation
- Responsible for program Performance and reporting Mechanical project status (Earned Value input)
- Participates with management team to establish strategic product line plans and objectives
- Provides technical direction and guidance to other staff members.
- Responsible for working with other disciplines on a project in order to meet project milestones
- Proposes IRAD and product/process improvement initiatives.
- Provides direction and support for product qualification and environmental testing.
- Prepares product qualification plans and reports that detail specific environmental testing and passing requirements for the product.
- Evaluates field installations and recommends design modifications.
- Conducts / participates with PDR, CDR and TIM presentations.
- Reviews performance and technical specifications to understand the functionality and environment of the final product.
- Prepares conceptual designs for products under consideration by company or potential customers.
- Supports and prepares required Data Items and other documents in response to customer requests.
- Supports operation, equipment maintenance, and repair of equipment and systems in field installations.
- Generates mechanical inputs for proposals including cost analysis and pricing activities as appropriate.
- Participates in engineering change board meetings and design reviews.
- Provides technical support to production personnel to facilitate the transition from design to manufacturing.
- Resolves technical problems by reworking designs or resolving inherent design conflicts.
- Initiates design/documentation changes into the production process based on feedback from the manufacturing/operations team
- Performs other duties as directed, assigned or as necessary in support of the department and organization.
Education and Experience:
- Experience: Minimum of 15 years of Mechanical Engineering and design experience
- Education: Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Must be a U.S. citizen and have a background that would permit the U.S. Department of Defense to issue a Secret clearance when necessary for work on a project that requires such a clearance.

Compensation ranges for roles at TTM Technologies varies depending on a wide array of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At TTM Technologies, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on each individual set of circumstances. A reasonable estimate of the current range is:
$140,909 - $247,805Additional compensation: An annual or quarterly company bonus may apply based on position assignment. Positions hired for alternative shift may be eligible for a shift premium based on the assigned shift and location.
