Experienced Picture Framer

We are searching for an experienced custom picture framer (at least 4 years) to work in our high end custom frame shop. Candidate must have a minimum 4 years experience with custom picture framing. This position requires skill in using power and hand tools (including saws, frame chopper, drills, sanders, glass cutter, underpinner). The candidate should be able to confidently and safely handle fine art and rare artifacts, cut and assemble different types of frames, fit and secure high-value artwork into frames, have knowledge of matting and hinging techniques. Position involves other tasks such as packaging and shipping framed artwork. Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs comfortably. This position requires that an individual have strong hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity and excellent attention to detail, with an ability to work independently and as a small team, and meet deadlines. Knowledge of art, design, and aesthetics is advantageous. Customer contact is limited as this is a shop/fabrication centered position.

Work Environment: This role is physically demanding and requires standing for extended periods and lifting heavy frames and operating framing equipment. The work environment is typically a workshop within a retail showroom

Salary: Salary is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Full-time, Monday through Friday 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
