GFT is seeking a Project Manager-Highway to support a variety of projects in the Mid-Atlantic Region. This role requires regular attendance on-site at Maryland State Highway Administration’s Chestertown, MD office.

ResponsibilitiesWhat you'll be challenged to do:
Initially, this role will report to Maryland State Highway Administration, District 2 Offices in Chestertown, MD as a Project Manager supplementing agency staff. Day-to-day supervision will be given by Maryland SHA representatives. Initial duties will include developing and managing the District 2 “Fund 77 Program” and other highway projects that may include geometric improvements, safety improvements, ADA compliance upgrades, roadway widening, and sidewalk projects.

In this capacity, the successful candidate may be responsible for the following:
- Participate in negotiating contract scopes and fees
- Help to prepare contracts and related documents
- Manage the project process
- Lead and participate in project kick-off meetings, as required
- Develop, coordinate and efficiently manage resources to complete the scopes of service
- Coordinate and manage the efforts of consultants
- Prepare or assist in preparing project status reports
- Monitor project budgets
- Develop and review design calculations
- Maintain communication with the internal/external stakeholders
- Prepare or assist in preparing project schedules. Maintain or provide information for maintaining project schedules
- Identify and control changes in scopes in accordance with the PEP
- Identify and control risks
- Ensure timely invoices and payments
- Approve invoices for billing
- Coordinate, manage and/or assist in project closeout activities
Qualifications
What you will bring to our firm:
- Bachelor’s degree in related Engineering field required
- Must have strong oral and written communication skills
- Must be able to analyze and solve problems efficiently and effectively

What we prefer you bring:
- 10 + years of industry experience preferred
- Maryland Professional Engineers Licensure Preferred
- Master’s Degree preferred
Compensation:
The Salary range for this position is $105,000-$135,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
