Project Architect, Senior Designer

M I Architects, Inc. is seeking a full time Project Architect / Senior Designer. We are located conveniently next to the Walnut Creek Bart Station. We specialize in commercial developments such as convenience stores, carwashes, retail stores, restaurants, mobility stations and truck stops. The successful candidate must be able to manage the development of the project. Direct design staff to develop Planning Entitlement packages, and Construction Documents. Have excellent skills, and experience in related commercial, retail, and restaurant facilities. This position is an opportunity to learn, and grow.

1. (7-10) Year of professional architectural working experience in commercial related project developments
2. Comfortable working with local jurisdictions, able to respond to project plan check comments, and facilitate building and planning submittals as necessary
3. Able to assist, and direct CAD staff to develop the projects
4. Knowledge of the current California Building, Fire, Green Building Standard Codes, and ADA requirements
5. Detail oriented, excellent problem solver, and self-motivated individual
6. Comfortable working both as part of the team, and individually
7. Good listening skills and strong follow through
8. Able to handle more than one project at one time
9. Able to interact effectively with consultant engineers, and local agencies
10. BA in Architecture, and California Licensed Architect is preferred
11. Strong written & oral communication skills
