Position Title: Design Engineer

Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, 40 Hours/Week

Summary of Duties: Design General- Duty and Heavy-Duty Load Breaking Switches and Enclosures

from 30 to 1,200 amps and up to 600 volts. Design and manufacture electrical products related to safety switches, load centers, and circuit breaker enclosures. Test Load Breaking Switches to ensure performance and customer safety standards are met. Implement Product Lifecycle Management for Siemens circuit protection product line. Design, research, prototype, document, estimate, process improvement, and production support. Construct prototypes and confirm designs. Use Pro/Engineering (Creo) to create models and drawings of products. Research new materials and methods of development. Organize and maintain existing engineering records. Construct prototypes and confirm designs. Perform physical testing on engineering prototypes. Ensure components and assemblies adhere to applicable industry and business standards. Implement new designs at various manufacturing locations.

Qualifications: The position requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical

Engineering, Design Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered, or as a Component Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Automation Engineer or an acceptable alternate occupation. The position requires experience with the following skills: Pro/Engineer (Creo), SolidWorks, or a similar software design program; Creating models and drawings of products; Prototyping with metal work and 3D printing; Modeling, detailing, and creating bills of material; Teamcenter software; SAP; Project Management; and Knowledge of how production lines and manufacturing processes operate.
