Maintenance Electrician / Maintenance Technician

RECONCRAFT is a leader in vessel manufacturing and commercial building support, seeking a versatile Maintenance Electrician / Maintenance Technician to maintain, repair, and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and building systems to ensure smooth production and facility operations.

This role combines electrical maintenance expertise with broad mechanical and facilities maintenance skills. The ideal candidate will perform installation, repair, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting on commercial buildings, manufacturing machinery, welding equipment, and facility systems including electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical components. Experience with lifts, cranes, and fabrication equipment is highly valued.

Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical control systems, wiring, lighting, transformers, circuit breakers, and other electrical components in compliance with the National Electrical Code and local regulations.
  • Read and interpret technical diagrams, blueprints, OEM manuals, and engineering drawings to guide maintenance activities.
  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections on manufacturing equipment such as welders, saws, air tools, snorkel lifts, scissor lifts, cranes, and general fabrication machinery.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic malfunctions to identify root causes and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability.
  • Repair or replace defective parts and components using hand and power tools.
  • Perform building repairs and maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, and structural tasks as needed.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and inventory of tools and consumables.
  • Operate cranes, forklifts, snorkel lifts, and scissor lifts safely for material handling and maintenance activities.
  • Collaborate with production teams to coordinate maintenance schedules and minimize disruption to operations.
  • Adhere to all safety standards and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
  • Assist with installation, modification, and relocation of machinery and equipment.
  • Provide guidance or training to junior maintenance staff as needed.
  • Perform welding and fabrication tasks related to machinery upkeep as required.

Essential Job Requirements:

  • Education and Experience

  • Technical college degree or certifications in electrical or mechanical fields preferred.

  • 2 to 10 years of experience in electrical maintenance and/or general maintenance technician roles, ideally in manufacturing or vessel fabrication environments.

  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.

  • Experience with lifts (snorkel, scissor), cranes, and fabrication machinery strongly preferred.

  • Proficiency in reading electrical codes, technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.

  • Skilled in the use of hand and power tools for repair and maintenance tasks.

  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.

  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.

  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Maintenance or technician training certificates.

  • Associate's degree in electrical, mechanical, or related technical discipline.

  • Experience maintaining welding machines and performing welding tasks.

  • Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs from the floor.

  • Frequent standing, climbing ladders, bending, grasping, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching.

  • Willingness to work long hours and flexible schedules as needed to meet production deadlines.
