Job Description

Haile Gold Mine located in Kershaw South Carolina is the largest gold mine on the East Coast of America. Our employees are at the heart of all we do. The Superintendent - Mobile Maintenance reporting to the Maintenance Manager, will be responsible for the execution and improvement of all mobile equipment maintenance activities across our site. You'll lead a team of skilled supervisors, tradespeople, and planners to ensure maintenance standards, schedules, and safety expectations are met.

  • Lead a Multi-disciplinary team to deliver safe, high-quality maintenance for all mobile mining equipment, including electric drive haul trucks, loaders, graders, dozers, water carts, and support vehicles.
  • Oversee mobile maintenance execution, and continuous improvement of mobile fleet performance.
  • Champion a safety-first culture by embedding visible leadership, frontline engagement, and critical control management.
  • Collaborate with operations, planning, and supply teams to align maintenance strategies with production goals.
  • Drive data-informed decision-making using condition monitoring, fleet performance analytics, and maintenance KPIs.
  • Lead workforce development initiatives, including skills uplift, succession planning, and team engagement.
  • Ensure all activities comply with statutory and company standards, including environmental, safety, and asset governance requirements.
  • Contribute to budgeting, contractor management, and capital planning for mobile equipment renewal and improvement projects.

Qualifications

  • Proven leadership experience in mobile maintenance within open pit mining
  • 10+ years experience and strong understanding of large mobile mining equipment (e.g. CAT, Komatsu, Hitachi)
  • Strong understanding of reliability-centered maintenance practices and technologies (e.g. MineStar Health, condition monitoring & (NDT) Non-destructive Testing)
  • Formal training in the maintenance of mining assets or degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Competency in Computerize Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS e.g. Pronto, SAP, AMT) and the use of planning tolls such as Microsoft Projects or Prometheus.
  • A track record of building and mentoring inclusive, high-performing maintenance teams.
  • Strong commitment to hazard identification, zero harm, cultural safety, and operations excellence.
