Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks: The Senior Traffic Engineer I/PM I is to provide technical design expertise to the project team while ensuring the overall quality of client deliverables. S/he will perform technical design for assigned projects and will have a working knowledge of traffic engineering in the field of civil engineering. This individual will provide technical support for the project team during the planning, design and construction of typical civil engineering projects. Mentors, directs, and periodically performs: o Project design, such as performing engineering calculations, using computer design software, referencing appropriate engineering procedures and design manuals. o Collecting and/or assembling complex project data. o Preparation of complex project documents including specifications and bid documents. o Complex drawing reviews, assuring plans are clear, concise, and thorough. o Others in the preparation of quantity takeoffs. o External communications. o Project documentation. o Complex site observations such as recording and reporting of existing conditions. Understands internal and external customers' needs and expectations; develops and improves client relationships. Manages preparation of reports, studies, and proposals, blogs, journal articles, etc. Understands basic financial terms and concepts as they apply to projects. Responsible for accounting of individual project task involvement, including scheduling, scope, role, and budget. Responsible for meeting and tracking multiple task budgets and schedules. Leads or contributes to business development efforts. Develops and follows up on qualifying leads. Reports leads in Deltek Vision. Senior Engineer I: Provides expertise for projects as a resident expert. Assists with accounting of individual project task involvement, including scheduling, scope, role, and budget. Directs and performs project budgeting by translating tasks into estimated hours. Project Manager I: Supervises and leads smaller teams or subgroup of a larger team. Manages less-complex projects or multiple tasks on complex projects. Leads external communications. Responsible for team or project accounting, including invoicing, workload, scheduling, scope, roles, and budgets. Manages team to achieve KPI's. Qualifications, Education & Experience: Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university. Professional licensed engineer in MO or KS. PTOE license Design experience with MicroStation and AutoCAD 15+ years of related experience with a strong technical background in design. Work Requirements: Monday through Friday.
