Job Duties/Responsibilities:
  1. The Safety Administrator role is not an office job. The Safety Administrator can expect to split their time between the production floor and an office setting.
  2. The Safety Administrator will report to the US Regional Safety Manager and act as a backup to our Safety Specialist, assisting with administration of Leland's safety program.
  3. Responsible for distribution and tracking completion of weekly safety toolbox talks.
  4. Conduct New Hire Safety Training on a weekly basis.
  5. Assist in designing and implementing new safety initiatives and help promote awareness of these initiatives amongst employees.
  6. Attend Safety Committee meetings as a member of the Safety Committee. Assist in running the meetings and take meeting minutes.
  7. Track meeting minutes for various safety meetings, including Human Performance Learning Teams.
  8. Complete Hazard Elimination Audits and Safety Awareness assessments on the shop floor. Track these audits and assessments, update metrics, and send to all supervisors and managers.
  9. Maintain and update Job Safety Analyses (JSAs). Provide training on JSAs.
  10. Assist in the following: Industrial Hygiene Sampling, PPE Evaluations, Incident Investigations, Waste Shipments, Chemical Inventory and MSDS Online, and updating Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedures.
  11. Administer forklift training and track forklift training completion and licenses. Maintain forklift training software.
  12. Oversee PPE vending machines and coordinate with PPE vendor to maintain inventory or add new items.
  13. Know and follow at all times proper safety procedures and wear prescribed personal protective equipment (PPE) as they relate to the work being performed.
  14. Personal Protective equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times (safety glasses and steel toe shoes). Safety equipment is provided by Victaulic, with the exception of steel toe shoes, which must be provided by the employee upon first day of employment.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned by the US Regional Safety Manager, Safety Specialist, or Plant Manager.

Qualifications/Requirements:
  1. (2-3) years of experience in industrial safety, preferred
  2. Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety (or related), preferred.
  3. High school diploma or equivalent required.
  4. Good communication skills - both verbal and written- required.
