The Buildings and Grounds Supervisor will work with a flexible group of dedicated staff based out of Huntington State Park. This position travels and performs a variety of construction and maintenance tasks at Scofield, Huntington, and Millsite State Parks. This role is a great benefit to the parks and supports tasks the park staff doesn't have the expertise to perform. Responsibilities
  • Work with park staff to provide building and grounds maintenance to the park complex.
  • Provide care and maintenance of park assets.
  • Build, fabricate, or repair structures and equipment based on verbal instructions or blueprints.
  • Perform general facility maintenance including carpentry, masonry, plumbing, electrical, and sanitation.
  • Operate heavy equipment including Bobcat, mini excavator, auger rig, backhoe, snowcat, and hand tools.
  • Paint, finish, and refinish wood, metal, and other materials.
  • Diagnose problems, make repairs, and perform preventative maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
  • Assist with project planning and cost estimates.
  • Supervise staff, assign tasks, and conduct evaluations.
  • Ensure building and grounds security.
  • Manage and coordinate construction projects and materials.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience in facility maintenance, construction, or skilled trades.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work outdoors in variable conditions.
  • Willingness and ability to obtain a Class A CDL within one year of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current Class A CDL.
  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of facility operations, construction, and maintenance.
  • Plumbing, electrical, and general construction skills.
  • Proficiency with survey equipment, lasers, and levels.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
Supplemental Information

This position requires physical exertion, including lifting up to 50 lbs., and may involve working around heavy machinery or in outdoor conditions. Applicants must be able to obtain a CDL (Class A) within one year of hire and must pass a criminal background check.
