We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Plant Mechanic/Plant Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the seamless operation and maintenance of our plant's equipment. The successful candidate will be entrusted with a range of responsibilities, from executing projects assigned by the Plant Manager and Operations Lead to maintaining a variety of mechanical systems.
Essential Job Functions:· Complete projects as assigned by the maintenance manager.
· Successfully maintain plant assets and mechanical systems minimizing down-time and maximizing equipment utilization and equipment life
· Ability to think on your feet and change direction at a moment’s notice
· Ability to own work processes and meet deadlines
· Successful history of working in a team environment
· Ability to work safely with strict adherence to established company policies, safety protocols, OSHA requirements and industry safety practices
· Good communication skills, demonstrated ability to follow detailed instructions (verbal and written)
· Ability to understand, interpret and follow technical construction and mechanical drawings and plans.
· Ability to use hand tools and other chemical plant machinery safely (JLG, forklifts etc.)
· Ability to work safely in a variety of climates (hot/cold, dry/humid, snow)
Required Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
· 5+ years’ experience with a high level of competency in a general maintenance environment
· Priority will be given to candidates with experience in the following order: Electrical (PLC, HMI, instrumentation, and general control systems), Mechanics (forklift repairs, boilers, water treatment systems), Rotating equipment (pumps and compressors), Piping Fitting (Steel, PVC), Welding,
· Knowledge and competence of basic computer functions (Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel)
· Ability to understand, interpret and follow technical construction and mechanical drawings and plans.
· Read, write, and understand the English language.
· Prior experience in a chemical or Petro-chemical manufacturing environment preferred but not required.
· U.S. citizen or permanent resident status.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience with chemical manufacturing processes.
- Experience using, following and completing work orders.
- Skills in operating and maintaining forklifts.
- Proficiency in various processes such as tote filling, railcar offloading, and moving.
- Capability to work in diverse weather conditions (snow, cold, rain).
- Ability to lift objects weighing 50-100 pounds.
- Stamina to climb ladders and stand for extended periods.
