Pay Range: 60-65K Base + $150/Deployed Daily Rate. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
POSITION SUMMARY INFORMATION: DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS
Job Summary:
The Assistant Project Manager (APM) supports the Project Manager (PM) and has the ultimate responsibility for the overall smooth operation of Job Site in the absence of the PM. By having a working familiarity with all job functions and duties of assigned staff, the APM will coordinate the establishment and daily functioning of the Job Site while maintaining communications with the PM, Director of Support, and any applicable governmental representatives and/or corporate clients.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- The APM will have the ability to operate independently, with minimal oversight.
- Ensures compliance with all contracts, performance work statements, working instructions, etc.
- Assists the PM with site surveys, mobilization plans, project plans, demobilization plans, and is prepared to conduct the preceding when the PM is not available.
- Complete all required reports accurately and on time.
- Reports Daily PERSTAT to the Director of Support or their designee.
- Ensure staff members are properly scheduled and operations run efficiently.
- Ensure staff members record time appropriately.
- Ensure all shipments and asset movements are complete, accurate, and recorded properly in Tripwire Inventory Program.
- Ensure weekly safety meetings are held. Assists in preparation and completion of accident, injury or illness reports and submission to GardaWorld Federal Services HR/Director of Support.
- Conduct daily meetings with staff members to ensure project information is disseminated.
- Work with Safety Officer to ensure a safety plan is created for all projects and assists with daily safety briefings to all staff.
- Make every effort to resolve issues by consulting with concerned parties, whether governmental agents or employees.
Required Education, Certifications, Licenses, and Experience:
- 3 years’ experience working as a supervisor, assistant project manager, or higher level in dynamic/austere Emergency Response field environments.
- Project Management, Construction Management, or Emergency Response Management.
- 3 Years Experience managing/supervising teams and job sites.
- Ability to develop and maintain relationships with customers, vendors, subcontractors, and Government representatives.
- Ability to deploy to various locations within the U.S. with minimal notice for extended periods.
- Strong organizational and time management skills and the ability to prioritize competing requirements.
- Basic electrical knowledge, the ability to diagnose and fix issues.
- Experience with generators (6kW-500kW) and generator connections.
- Knowledge of and experience with electrical tools, plumbing tools, general construction tools, and jobsite safety equipment.
- Basic plumbing knowledge, the ability to diagnose and fix issues with sinks, faucets, water connections, toilets, water heater (tank/tankless), and propane gas connections.
- Experience loading trailers for transport.
- Clean driving record: the ability to drive/operate various vehicles including full size dually trucks and 26’ box trucks (Non CDL).
- Experience with deployment, setup/installation, and operation of shower trailers, restroom trailers, kitchen trailers, laundry trailers, or similar mobile emergency trailer equipment.
- Experience with MS Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).
- Experience with scheduling, timekeeping software platforms, and general administrative duties.
Preferred Education, Certifications, Licenses, and Experience:
- Experience working in a field / non-standard environment.
- Experience with forklift and telehandler operation and the ability to be certified on multiple platforms.
- Experience with field maintenance and repairs on vehicles and equipment.
- Incident Command System (ICS) certifications preferred (ICS 100/200/IS 700.B etc.)
- Trade certifications/licenses e.g., electrical, generator maintenance, HVAC, etc. preferred.
- Class A/B CDL or willingness to obtain is preferred.
Work Environment:
Employees may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions, fumes, or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.
Physical Requirements:
Employees may be required to remain in a stationary position, stand, push, pull, climb, kneel, crawl, balance, squat, bend, and reach. Employees may be also required to use gear to move items around, including, but not limited to, carts and dollies. Employees may also be occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 49 pounds.
