Architectural Designer

Job Description

Join an innovative design-build firm that specializes in the design and construction of steel structures ranging from 5,000 square feet to over 500,000 square feet. This full-service firm manages projects from initial design to construction completion, ensuring quality and precision throughout the entire process. The current workload is focused locally in Wooster, OH, with projects primarily involving pre-fabricated steel structures for manufacturing, sports facilities, and office buildings.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with the estimating team on preliminary design work.
  • Create architectural drawings using AutoCad.
  • Complete all construction documents for the build team.
  • Collaborate with project managers, estimating, and field teams to ensure accurate designs.
  • Attend internal and external design reviews.
  • Allocate 80% of work to design and construction documentation and 20% to administration, client meetings, and internal coordination.
Essential Skills
  • Proficiency in AutoCad and architectural design.
  • Experience in creating construction documents.
  • 1+ years of experience in design-build style architecture.
  • Architecture degree or 5+ years of CAD experience related to architectural design.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience in construction administration and drafting.
  • Strong design skills and ability to collaborate effectively.
Work Environment

The role is based in an in-office, standalone building in Wooster, OH. The position involves primarily desk/computer work focused on CAD design. This is a growth position with opportunities to advance. The firm is looking to nearly double in size over the next five years, offering dynamic opportunities for career advancement.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $48.00/hr.
