We are seeking an experienced mechanic (2+ years) to service a fleet of medium-duty diesel trucks and company gasoline-powered vehicles.
This is a highly visible, hands-on role that requires good inspection skills, duty to safety and workmanship that meets our quality standards.
Training under our master mechanic is required.
Initially part-time, late afternoon/evening and weekends. Great second job with transition to full-time.
Duties:
Troubleshoot and repair diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, braking systems and electrical systems.
Conduct routine maintenance (e.g., greasing, fluid checks, filter replacements) and wash-down of construction vehicles.
Maintain organization and cleanliness of shop.
Access to fabrication, body work and painting depending on interest, skill and ability.
Qualifications:
Verifiable experience as a mechanic or similar role.
Certification from an automotive program preferred but not required.
Strong inspection and problem-solving skills.
Able to safely climb on and under medium-duty and heavy-duty construction equipment.
Able to effectively manage heavy tools while working.
Able to stay organized and focused in a fast-paced environment.
Good driving record (mechanics test-drive all repairs)
Drug-free environment in accordance with federal DOT requirements.
Background check required.
