As a Construction Safety Manager I, you will provide construction safety and health leadership and oversight for regulatory compliance by ensuring contractors that work on properties follow DOSH, FAA, OSHA, U.S. Coast Guard and Port of Seattle regulations to help minimize third party liability exposure and minimize operational impacts.
+ You will assist in managing and coordinating safety on small and medium sized construction projects for the Aviation, Maritime, and Real Estate Divisions.
+ You will provide and develop Port of Seattle (POS) Construction Safety Orientation for awareness to communicate and assure all workers have a clear knowledge and understanding of workplace safety standards and construction environments prior to work. You will facilitate orientations via virtual, in person and field settings and evaluate the orientations effectiveness and compliance of participation.
+ You will provide contractors with written recommendations on plan deficiencies related to regulations and contractual standards. You will also assure contractors finalized site-specific safety plans are within compliance with federal and state regulations, and contractual standards.
+ You will facilitate safety communications via project and department meetings, providing information on trends, analysis, deficiencies and concerns. You will coordinate, administer and maintain documentation of the Port of Seattle Construction Safety Program.
+ You will coordinate safety familiarization pre-construction visit with the Port Construction Manager and Inspector to better anticipate safety hazards within scope of work.
+ You will monitor contractor root cause analysis process by assisting in investigating construction related incidents to determine causation and prevention measures and respond to site incident or hazardous conditions to assure contractor compliance and mitigation procedures are implemented.
+ You will analyze incident and injury data, document and provide reports to project teams so failure modes can be corrected by contractor and prevent incidents and injuries from reoccurring.
+ You will anticipate/forecast project hazardous conditions reviewing historical observational and incident data, hazard control plans, and submittal documents to determine where hazards and risk may be present and work with project team and contractor to mitigate risk.

+ **Experienced** You have four (4) years of safety-related heavy construction experience with primary responsibility performing safety program management.
