CAD Drafter

Power-Flo Technologies manufactures electrical equipment providing custom panelboards, switchboards, pull boxes, cabinets, retrofits, and more to our customers. We handle the entire project from takeoff to drawings, approval assistance, and fabrication in our UL-certified shop. We are looking for you to join our collaborative team as a Drafter.

This is a full-time role at our New Hyde Park, NY office.

Salary: $45,760 - $75,000 annually

Drafter Responsibilities:

• Collaborates with engineers to interpret design concepts, review schematics, and determine specifications such as part configurations, dimensions, and tolerances for detailed working drawings.
• Creates detailed and assembly drawings using Inventor (CAD software), including entering engineering data and specifications to test and validate final layouts.
• For Design Build or Build to Print Projects, provide estimates for labor, shop materials and design time for proposals to customers.
• Detailed design activities on receipt of customer order for a Panel Job, including review of sales generated BOM's and making of necessary corrections, additions/deletions, etc. Complete mechanical and electrical designs drawn in AutoCAD Electrical and Inventor.
• Provides internal technical support to Panel Technicians, including drawing clarifications, procedural guidance, and in-process quality checks.
• Supports customers post-sale, including startups and technical issue resolution.
• Occasional travel to jobsites to acquire field measurements.

Drafter Qualifications:

• Experience with Inventor (CAD software) required
• Experience with UL891 required
• Fabrication background
• Valid Driver's License to operate company vehicles
• Knowledge of Tools and Fixturing Required for Control Panel Fabrication and Wiring
• Knowledge of UL 508A a plus

Drafter Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time.
• Ability to utilize a computer keyboard, computer monitor, computer mouse, adding machine, and telephone for prolonged periods of time.
• Ability to climb stairs daily.
• Some minor lifting and moving of parts and equipment.
• You will be in a production/manufacturing environment daily.
