Primary purpose: Provide project management and quality control & assurance for all floor covering, tile, cabinet, and solid surface countertop installations (Carpet, Vinyl, Tile, Wood, Laminate Floors/Countertop, Granite, Quartz)
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Pre-Installation Walkthroughs: Conduct pre-installation walk-throughs and complete checklists to ensure job readiness for installers.
- Product Coordination: Collaborate with purchasing, warehouse, and delivery operations to ensure the right product is at the right place at the right time for each assigned project.
- Scheduling: Work with scheduling to ensure timely completion by each installer and modify schedules as needed.
- Quality Control: Regularly inspect installations during the installation phase to ensure high-quality standards are met.
- Issue Resolution: Troubleshoot quality issues and problem-solve with installers, acting as a liaison between installers and sales.
- Change Orders and Punch Lists: Initiate change orders and punch lists needed in the field, coordinating material delivery to the job site.
- Relationship Building: Establish positive relationships with subcontractors and in-house installers.
- Training and Coaching: Coach and train installers to improve craftsmanship and productivity.
- Minor Repairs: Perform minor touch-ups/repairs as needed.
- Customer Relations: Build strong customer relations with timely execution of installs and quick response to any installation issues.
- Final Walkthrough: Conduct final walk-throughs with builders/customers upon job completion and document punch list items.
- Warranty Response: Assist in warranty response as required by customer/builder when issues occur.
- Communication: Communicate daily/multiple times per day back to the team regarding the installation status.
- Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum 5+ years of floor covering, tile, cabinet, and/or solid surface countertop installation experience.
- Construction Background: Background in residential construction and interiors with general knowledge of home construction.
- Communication Skills: Superior communicator with customers and internal teams, adept at using technology for communication (Trello, Outlook, Microsoft Applications).
- Problem Solving: Able to problem-solve with minimal supervision, identifies waste, and implements improvements.
- Interpersonal Skills: Approachable, a good listener, and effective communicator with others.
- Blueprint Reading: Ability to read and understand blueprints.
- Adaptability: Able to modify planned daily schedules for unplanned urgencies.
- Goal Setting: Effective at setting and achieving goals and objectives.
- Pressure Handling: Thrive under pressure, juggle multiple tasks with finesse, and exhibit good time management skills.
- Supervision: Ability to supervise and inspire independent subcontractors.
- Safety Commitment: 100% commitment to the safety of employees, subcontractors, customers, and the community.
Strongly Preferred:
- Product Knowledge: Basic knowledge of products, systems, and accessories installed for floor coverings, tile, and solid surface countertops.
- Software Proficiency: Experience using Microsoft Office products. Sales experience is helpful but not required.
