Job Description:
Description: The Refrigeration Mechanic is responsible for installation, maintenance, calibrations, overhaul, service, and repair for all levels of refrigeration and air conditioning systems throughout the JPS Health Network.
Typical Duties:
- Reads schematics, interprets manufacturers' specifications, written, and verbal instructions for the maintenance and repair of refrigeration and air conditioning systems.
- Performs preventive maintenance on air conditioning, refrigeration, and ventilation systems to maintain specified temperature and humidity.
- Inspects and adjusts air conditioning and refrigeration systems after installation.
- Inspects, calibrates, adjusts, lubricates, and repairs and/or replaces components as necessary.
- Maintains equipment inventory, submits requisitions, and communicates with vendors and contractors to communicate information.
- Observes and practices appropriate safety procedures and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) protocols for managing refrigeration equipment.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Vocational or technical school training specializing in air conditioning and refrigeration systems.
- 3 plus years of experience working with air conditioning and refrigeration systems, installation, and repair.Required Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training:
- Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Section 608 Technician Certification, Type Universal
