The minimum salary is $22.226 per hour
This position is eligible for overtime (non-exempt), if applicable.
Pay Grade 516
This position is eligible for Hazardous Duty Supplemental Pay ($90/month, $0.52c/hour) and CDL pay ($1.08/hour) upon hire.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The purpose of this classification is to transport and operate multiple pieces of equipment to and from the work site such as excavators, bulldozers, dump trucks, aerial equipment and other large machinery and tools required to complete various tasks.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Two (2) years of related experience
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Loading and unloading equipment from vehicles used to transport it
- Inspecting equipment before and after use to ensure safety
- Driving and/or controlling heavy equipment to complete tasks at the construction site
- Monitoring performance and adjusting settings as required to complete tasks correctly
- Filling out performance records to report issues with equipment and track where and when it was used
- Cleaning equipment after use and disposing of any collected scraps or waste
- Completing major repair work/welding with heavy equipment as needed
- Performs related work as assigned
SPECIAL LICENSE/CERTIFICATION
All Certifications and licenses must be maintained as a condition of employment.
- A valid Kentucky Commercial Driver's License (CDL) - Class B and a valid Department of Transportation (DOT) Medical Examiner's Certificate in order to qualify, and must obtain:
- Kentucky Commercial Driver's License (CDL) - Class A, Endorsement N - Tank Vehicles, and a valid Department of Transportation (DOT) Medical Examiner's Certificate within six months
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be accessible to on-call duty and be able to work weekends and holidays as assigned and during emergencies.
- Positions are required to perform snow removal duties during weather emergencies.
- Must be able to operate Urban County Government equipment and vehicles in a safe, prudent and responsible manner.
- All positions require drug testing before employment and may require a post-job offer physical as stated in Ordinances 21-14(b), 22-13 and 23-16.
- CDL holders are subject to FMCSA query prior to qualification
