RF Design Engineer
Job Description

We are seeking a Radio Frequency (RF)/Microwave (MW) Design Engineer to join our team in developing state-of-the-art RF/MW assemblies. The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating component-level RF/MW and analog hardware designs, with a solid understanding of digital hardware designs. This role involves the detailed design and selection of components and sub-circuits, offering exposure to the entire hardware design cycle from conceptual design to production support.

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a small team designing integrated microwave assemblies with the latest RF and MW technologies.
  • Support development through component selection, evaluation, modeling, and testing.
  • Conduct research, simulation, and modeling of individual components and system levels, including printed filter design.
  • Engage in design work ranging from analog and digital circuits, fabrication and assembly, PCB design, hybrid assembly, testing, and debugging of electrical assemblies.
  • Participate in all aspects of design from initial development phase through full-rate production support.
  • Contribute to a fast-paced design environment supporting various products.
Essential Skills
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering with 2-5 years of MW/RF experience or Master of Science with a concentration in RF/MW Circuit Design and RF/MW Systems Theory.
  • Familiarity with Integrated Microwave Assemblies (IMA) designs and key components.
  • Experience using simulation and CAD tools for RF/MW designs.
  • Proficiency with RF testing equipment such as synthesizers, spectrum analyzers, power meters, and vector network analyzers.
  • Working knowledge of RF/MW circuit design, analysis, and layout techniques.
  • Ability to interface directly with engineering, test, manufacturing, and suppliers/subcontractors.
  • Proficiency in designing, specifying, and testing electrical components, subassemblies, and cables.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and earn the respect of peers.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Proficiency with design tools such as ADS, Genesys, AutoCAD, and Mentor Graphics DxDesigner.
  • Exposure to National Instruments LabWindows / CVI is desirable.
  • Experience with printed filters, amplifiers, or key components is preferred.
  • Experience in testing and troubleshooting MW/RF, analog, and digital designs.
  • Working knowledge of key RF/MW manufacturing technology.
  • Strong analog skills, including requirements analysis, preliminary design, and detail design.
  • Experience in estimating engineering efforts and developing or maintaining project schedules is a plus.
  • Proficiency with the MS Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Access, Project, Word).
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Work Environment

This position requires 100% onsite work with a 9/80 schedule. The team comprises three Senior RF Engineers and two RF Technicians, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $130000.00/yr.
