Over the past few weeks, the valve has progressively gotten harder to shut off. At this point, it takes excessive force to close, and even then, it still drips. Feels like the internal cartridge or mechanism is shot. Ideally, I'd like to replace just the worn part not the entire valve assembly or copper piping unless absolutely necessary.
