Internal to current North Carolina State Employees
This position is supervisory/technical and plans, monitors and manages the daily work activities of the department to ensure efficient use of manpower and to ensure the work is completed in a high quality, cost effective and safe manner. This position is required to monitor preventive maintenance records to ensure adaptive equipment is inspected for safe operation on a set schedule. This position is also responsible for the Grounds keeping crew's daily operations.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies

Monitor and facilitate water management program for facility water remediation including filter changes, flushing, testing, and ice machines
Work with staff and/or contractors to allow for timely completion of projects as needed
Order materials for daily operations and small projects as required
Monitor daily progress of projects by staff and/or contractors to ensure safety and adherence to specifications.
Verify that all work is in compliance with The State of North Carolina codes.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and three (3) years of progressive experience in facility maintenance or construction including journey level experience in at least three (3) building or mechanical trades
OR
An equivalent combination of education and experience.
Necessary Special Qualifications May require current certification by the EPA as a Type I, II, III or Universal technician as required by 40 CFR part 82, subpart F.
