Construction - Carpenter

Our company serves as a general contractor that builds and improves homes in Door and Kewaunee counties. Primary duties include framing, siding, and interior finishing, but can also include a spectrum of other construction related activities. Work is year-round. We typically work four 10 hour days, for 40 total hours per week. Start time may vary per day, but most often will be between 6:00 am and 7:00 am. Basic knowledge of tools and ability to read a tape measure is required. Will train as needed, but most important attributes are dependability, ambition and willingness to learn our quality standards. Pay listed at $17.00 per hour, but will reflect experience. We pay overtime after 40 hours each week. Benefits include vacation pay at the beginning of the next year, prorated by number of months employeed, retirement plan with matching employer funds available. Position available: Full-time, Year-round Carpenter We are currently seeking a full-time, year round carpenter to add to our team. Starting pay is based on experience, and may be adjusted after 90 day training period. 40+ hours guaranteed each week, typically Monday-Thursday. Work at an employer who treats you like family! Duties and Responsibilities of the Job: Our small, family-owned company does a variety of tasks related to construction: framing, siding, roofing, painting, and finish work. Occasional demolition work is performed for remodeling projects also. Employees construct, erect, install, and repair structures and fixtures of wood, plywood, and wallboard, using carpenter's hand tools and power tools. You will perform tasks involving physical labor at construction sites. May operate hand and power tools of all types: nailers, drills, saws, and a variety of other equipment and instruments. We do a variety of construction work: framing, roofing, siding, remodeling, painting, finish and trim work. May assist other craft workers or do some tasks independently. Need to be able to lift up to 75-100 pounds, and have reliable transportation to our yard each day. Workday starts between 6:00 or 7:00, based on sunrise. Ability to read measurements and understand fractions is part of the job. You will travel in company vehicles from our yard to jobsites. Most important is having a positive attitude, and being open to learning our quality standards.
