Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Datadog Performance Architect to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of performance monitoring and observability solutions using Datadog. The ideal candidate will play a key role in improving system reliability, performance, and visibility across complex, distributed applications and cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Architect and implement enterprise-grade observability and performance monitoring solutions using Datadog.
Define monitoring strategies and metrics for application performance, infrastructure health, and user experience.
Develop custom dashboards, monitors, alerts, and integrations with business-critical systems.
Collaborate with engineering, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to define SLIs/SLOs and improve system reliability.
Lead performance benchmarking, anomaly detection, and root cause analysis using Datadog and complementary tools.
Implement best practices around APM, infrastructure monitoring, log management, and synthetic monitoring.
Provide guidance and mentorship on Datadog usage and observability maturity to technical teams.
Stay updated on Datadog's roadmap and evaluate new features or integrations.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Proven experience as a performance architect or observability engineer, with hands-on expertise in Datadog.
Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform) and microservices architecture.
Experience with Datadog APM, Infrastructure Monitoring, Logs, Synthetics, RUM, and CI/CD integrations.
Proficient in scripting and automation (e.g., Python, Bash, Terraform, etc.).
Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, and serverless environments.
Strong troubleshooting skills and experience with performance tuning in production environments.
Excellent communication skills and ability to interface with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
Datadog Certified (e.g., Datadog Certified Monitoring & Performance Analyst or Architect preferred but not mandatory).
Experience with other monitoring tools (e.g., New Relic, Dynatrace, Prometheus, Grafana) is a plus.
Background in SRE, DevOps, or Cloud Infrastructure roles.
