Senior Structural Engineer
We are seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to lead multidisciplinary design teams on a wide range of projects, including power, industrial, healthcare, government, and commercial facilities. This role involves managing structural design from concept through construction, ensuring technical excellence, cost efficiency, and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Structural Design: Manage structural engineering efforts from initial concept through final design, ensuring alignment with project goals, budgets, and client expectations.
Develop Specifications: Create structural equipment specifications, data sheets, RFQs, technical bid evaluations, and procurement recommendations.
Coordinate with Vendors and Teams: Review vendor drawings and collaborate with suppliers, clients, and internal teams to ensure design integration and accuracy.
Project Planning: Support project scheduling, budgeting, staffing, and construction planning. Manage and document change orders.
Apply Technical Expertise: Use advanced knowledge of structural codes and standards to develop innovative and compliant design solutions.
Ensure Quality: Conduct quality reviews of drawings, models, and construction documents using CAD and other design tools.
Support Construction: Provide technical support during construction, including field investigations and resolution of design-related issues.
Client Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and contractors, ensuring satisfaction and identifying new opportunities.
Proposal Development: Lead the preparation of design proposals, cost estimates, and qualification packages.
Mentor and Lead: Provide guidance to junior engineers and foster a collaborative, high-performing team environment.
Promote Safety and Compliance: Ensure adherence to safety standards and company policies throughout all project phases.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or a related field from an ABET-accredited program (Master's degree preferred).
Minimum of 7 years of structural engineering experience; EPC project experience is a plus.
Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
Strong knowledge of structural codes (IBC, AISC, ACI, ASCE 7) and engineering software.
Proven leadership in managing large-scale projects and delegating tasks effectively.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Experience with quality reviews and construction administration.
Willingness to travel as needed.
