Contract Analyst
Salary: $80,000 - $90,000
Position Overview:
Under the general direction of the Director of Grants the position is responsible for the accounting and reporting of a portfolio of grants representing specific service deliveries to targeted populations. Also, managing City and State A/R Tracker and State Portals (Shelter Management Systems (SMS, Grant Gateway).
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Grant accounting, including:
Analysis of monthly expenditures of federal, state and city grants Budget to actual reporting on government grants and contracts Working closely with program directors in planning and preparing annual budget modifications, as needed Preparation of monthly closing entries and requests for reimbursement Communication with the applicable funding sources Preparation and analysis of grant funded program profit and loss statements, variance analysis Program budget development
Journal entries for grant personnel, fringe benefits and OTPS expenditures
Grant closeouts and adjusting entries, as necessary.
Maintain budget information in general ledger
Prepare periodic analyses throughout the year to estimate projected annual spending
Document preparation for audits and desk reviews of city, state, federal grants, and contracts
Assist with preparing Organization annual audit schedules and gathering documentation as requested by auditors
Updating State and City monthly invoice tracker
Assist with Fiscal Year Budgets Annual Review
Other projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years' experience in grants or general accounting
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, City Passport Portal, Sage Intacct and general ledger accounting software
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Related Field
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in a Not-for-Profit agency
Experience working with New York City contracts with the Department of Homeless Services, Department of Health and Mental Hygiene and Human Resource Administration in the NYC HHS Accelerator system and through the NYC Payee Information Portal.
Experience working with contracts with the New York State Office of Mental Health and using the New York State Grants Gateway system.
Experience with the preparation of the New York State Consolidated Fiscal Report
Knowledge and experience with the reporting functions of the Intacct accounting and financial management software
