Job Description

MISSION:

To plan, coordinate and manage the purchasing of metals, materials, equipment, supplies and services for the business operation and, when appropriate, the Structurals division in order to maximize buying power, decrease cost, increase and maintain quality, and assure continuity of supply.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Purchasing Contracts.

Objective: to establish raw material, service, and supply sources, and establish contracts to assure timely delivery, high quality and low cost.

Typical Activities:

Establish and maintain sources of supply for raw materials and other supplies/services to support company quality and customer delivery needs and government compliance.

Gather volume requirements and specifications from the Business Operation or Division.

Prepare and issues Requests For Quotes.

Perform make/buy/lease analyses.

Negotiate price, delivery service, terms and conditions for supplier contracts.

Maintains a system to keep all Structural Division Purchasing updated regarding current contracts.

Interface with Sales, Manufacturing Planning, Engineering, Quality, Production and vendors to assure adherence to contract terms.

Works directly with suppliers to resolve problems; locates other resources when needed.

Planning and Budgeting.

Objective: to establish, manage, and monitor purchasing goals and budget; to report on purchasing programs and projected cost savings.
