Mechanic**
**Job Description**
We are seeking a skilled Mechanic to maintain and repair construction equipment. This role involves diagnosing mechanical issues, conducting preventative maintenance, and ensuring equipment safety and efficiency at community-driven construction sites.
**Responsibilities**
+ Perform routine maintenance and emergency repairs on company trucks, trailers, and light- to medium-duty construction equipment.
+ Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
+ Maintain service logs, repair records, and inspection reports.
+ Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance to reduce equipment downtime.
+ Order and track parts, tools, and supplies as needed.
+ Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations for vehicles.
+ Assist with equipment setup and readiness for job sites.
+ Communicate with project managers and field crew to prioritize repairs and maintenance.
+ Keep the shop clean, organized, and safe.
+ Occasionally assist with field repairs or jobsite support when needed.
**Essential Skills**
+ 3+ years of experience as a mechanic, preferably with construction vehicles and equipment.
+ Strong understanding of gas and diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
+ Experience with equipment such as skid steers, compressors, generators, compactors, and power tools.
+ Ability to work independently and manage a maintenance schedule.
+ Valid driver's license.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Basic welding and fabrication skills is a plus.
+ Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is a plus, but not required.
+ Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
+ Must be reliable, organized, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

**Work Environment**
Work both in the shop and in the field performing repairs as needed. The shift is from 7am to 3pm with flexibility as needed and minimal weekend work.

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $29.00/hr.
