Compensation plans are based on a multi-step progression system. The pay range reflects the entry level and maximum salary potential in the assigned pay grade.

Nature of Work Thefundamental reason this classification exists is to supervisethe work of multiple crews engaged in skilled carpentry work in both new andexisting construction. The primary workresponsibilities include: acting as the generalcontractor for large construction and renovation projects; supervising skilled and semi-skilled workersengaged in building construction trades (carpentry and construction); respondingto complaints concerning carpentry and construction maintenance incity-owned/-operated facilities; preparing cost estimatesfor project materials, labor, time and equipment needed to complete projects; preparingproject budgets; coordinating the work of carpentry and constructioncrews with other departments crews and/or outside contractors; and overseeingthe preparation and maintenance of required paperwork. Work is performedwith limited supervision and the incumbent is required to exercise independentjudgment and technical expertise. Supervision is received from the BuildingConstruction Superintendent. Minimum QualificationsHighschool diploma or GED and four (4) years of experience as a foreman or lead workersupervising skilled and unskilled workers constructing buildings, additions, largerenovations, and minor carpentry repairs at a journeyman level.
NOTE :Qualifying education, training and experience that provide the requisiteknowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job will be considered .
Special RequirementsMusthave and maintain a valid Drivers License and an insurable drivingrecord. Must work overtime, nights, andweekends for emergencies and special events.Must be willing to be on-call on a rotationalbasis.
