As a member of the eMotor Core Team in the Electrified Propulsion Engineering division of Ford Motor Company, you will be part of a highly skilled team driven to design and engineer optimal electric motors for Fords electrified vehicles.

You will be involved in the product development from the ground up until vehicle implementation and have the opportunity to be involved in the design, analysis, and validation of Fords electric machines.

RESPONSIBILITIES

What you'll do...

Design and analyzes electric machines suitable for HEV or BEV architecture

Benchmark existing HEV or BEV competitor motors

Develops methods to improve electric machine performance through improved materials, modeling methods, and design algorithms

Develops test plans and processes data from electric machine testing

Work with mechanical design engineers to finalize electric machine design

Work with CAD designers to develop 3D models and prints for all components

Work with transmission design team to integrate machines into transmissions

Evaluates electric machines in various stages: prototype, pre-production, production

QUALIFICATIONS

You'll have...

Enrollment in Bachelors program in Electrical Engineering.

Record of internship and relevant extracurricular projects

Even better, you may have...

Understanding of inverter / drive and controls influence on electric machine operation

Good understanding of construction / manufacturing methods of electric machines

Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks

Experience with software for system evaluation such as Matlab Simulink, Simplorer, etc.
