Horner & Shifrin is seeking a full-time Project Engineer to work in the

Illinois region of our Transportation business unit. The position

requires 5+ years of experience. This position is responsible for

assisting & leading project teams, developing engineering solutions, and

delivering a thorough and comprehensive end product.

**POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:**

- Assigned specific, high-responsibility-level tasks on project teams

- Resolve engineering problems and tasks as they are assigned, with

help as needed from more experienced staff

- Perform transportation engineering analyses and calculations

- Prepare and write engineering and other reports

- Work as part of a team to complete general transportation

engineering services for municipal, county, and state agencies

- Assist in the preparation of reports and feasibility studies

- Develop engineering plans, specifications, and estimates (PS&E)

**POSITION REQUIREMENTS:**

- Licensed Professional Engineer (preferred)

- Ability to lead, manage and schedule staff to meet project needs

- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

- Experience working with the Illinois Department of Transportation

and local municipalities (preferred)

- Use of Microsoft Office Products (e. g. Word, Excel, Outlook)

- Proficient in the use of MicroStation with OpenRoadsDesigner/Geopak

or AutoCAD with Civil 3D

- Must possess a valid drivers license

- Must complete a background check

**EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:**

Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering

**SALARY RANGE:**

*Horner & Shifrin, Inc. offers a comprehensive total rewards package and

is committed to fair, competitive, market-based compensation. The target

salary range for this position is \$85,000 to \$110,000. Compensation

for the successful candidate will consider the candidates particular

combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, and

geographic location.*
