We're seeking a Field Service HVAC Controls Engineer to join a growing team of building automation professionals.
In this role, you'll be responsible for commissioning, troubleshooting, and supporting smart building systems using Direct Digital Controls (DDC).
You'll work closely with project managers, electricians, and other trades to make buildings more efficient and intelligent.
This position involves Travel, so a strong field presence and customer focus are essential.

Top 3 Must-Have Hard Skills
Direct Digital Controls (DDC) Experience
Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintaining DDC-based HVAC control systems in the field.
Building Automation Software Proficiency
Strong working knowledge of building automation platforms, especially Automated Logic tools such as WebCtrl, SiteBuilder, and LogicBuilder.
HVAC Systems & Controls Knowledge
Solid understanding of HVAC equipment (VAVs, fan coils, small AHUs, CW/HW systems) and their control sequences, with the ability to interpret technical schematics and deliver turnkey solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Start up, commission, and re-commission DDC-based HVAC control systems
- Deliver turnkey solutions for small projects (under 80 hours)
- Troubleshoot and resolve mid-level system issues
- Work with unitary systems (VAVs, fan coils, small AHUs) and basic CW/HW systems
- Set up alarms, trends, reports, and operator workstations
- Maintain accurate as-built drawings and daily job logs
- Provide on-site training to customers
- Collaborate with subcontractors and other trades
- Ensure safety standards are followed at all times
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (preferably with a focus on HVAC or Building Automation)
- 3+ years of field experience with HVAC control systems
- Familiarity with Automated Logic Controls (ALC) and third-party integrations
- Experience with ALC software tools such as WebCtrl, SiteBuilder, LogicBuilder, and others
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently
- Solid understanding of mechanical equipment and control sequences
- Proficiency with laptops, mobile devices, and basic networking
