Job Title: Superintendent/QCM Dual Hat
Job Description
The Superintendent/QCM Dual Hat role involves overseeing project management and ensuring the smooth progression of assigned projects. You will collaborate with subcontractors, suppliers, and field personnel to mobilize and administer efforts throughout the project's lifecycle. The position requires managing cost changes and performance to detect variances from the cost baseline and maintaining the project schedule by determining the necessary resources and availability. Additionally, you will prepare detailed schedules, manage subcontractor relationships, oversee quality assurance activities, and implement safety guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Apprise project management of the project's progress, issues, and concerns.
- Collaborate with subcontractors, suppliers, and company field personnel.
- Control changes to the cost baseline and monitor cost performance.
- Maintain the project's schedule by determining resources and availability.
- Prepare three-week look-ahead and long lead item schedules.
- Notify management of events impacting the schedule.
- Manage all aspects of subcontractors and provide direction for close-out documents.
- Obtain all certificates and conduct final inspections prior to project close-out.
- Oversee quality assurance activities and ensure continuous process improvement.
- Provide accurate invoicing and timely delivery of materials and equipment.
- Provide direction to the Project Engineer and maintain priority on critical path items.
- Implement all applicable safety guidelines and adhere to company safety policies.
Essential Skills
- 10+ years of experience as a Superintendent or Construction Manager.
- Current OSHA 30 certification.
- Proven ability to make timely decisions using sound judgment.
- Proficiency in problem-solving and making appropriate recommendations.
- Competency in meeting established goals while ensuring quality of work.
- Capability to take independent actions and calculated risks.
- Excellent organizational and detail-oriented skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite and project management software.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or similar field preferred.
- Experience with Federal construction projects is a plus.
Work Environment
This role requires working outdoors in extreme conditions such as cold, heat, and humidity on a daily basis. The position involves standing, climbing, bending, and stooping regularly. A valid driver's license is required to operate a personal vehicle. The role may require travel for temporary contract assignments.
This will be a short term contract of 1-2 months finishing out a current project
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $70.00/hr.
