Our Opportunity:
The Chewy Learning and Development team is seeking an experienced Learning Architect with learning program strategy and planning skills! Someone who can help re-envision how learning programs (such as enterprise onboarding, manager and leadership development, executive development and high potential employee programs) can be radically different, more efficient, and results driven. This role will be responsible for crafting programs geared towards leaders or individual contributors within the Chewy Enterprise such as new employees, Managers, Directors or Executives. They will own the core components of Learning Strategy: Analysis, Design, and Evaluation. You will partner with Senior Instructional Designers and Training Managers who will help you complete learning strategy from development to implementation. You will also partner cross-functionally with Human Resources, Talent Management, Learning Analytics and Core Business Functions. This strategic role is perfect for someone who can see the whole field and operate at scale and depth to advance business goals with compelling learning programs. The ability to Think Big and Deliver Results will be hallmarks of the successful candidate.
As a Learning Architect, you will help influence the creation and/or create and manage processes that help scale new learning programs and maintenance of existing program materials. The goal of all programs you develop will be to positively contribute to all key Chewy metrics and Chewy learner metrics - including customer satisfaction, retention, lifetime value, engagement, retention and performance.
You will have the opportunity to use your experience building learning and training programs to help support key enterprise goals. Direct experience and understanding of detailed development and implementation across the full ADDIE lifecycle are also desired. With your ability to influence and get results in a highly collaborative environment, you will consult with key business leaders on their long-term business needs. As a member of the Talent Development team, you will communicate up, across, and out to teams who are not learning-centric, doing so crisply and clearly through email, white papers, and other mechanisms, in a way that they can understand and rally behind.
What you'll do :
- Build partnerships and influence Chewy Team Members across human resources, customer care operations, talent management, learning analytics, and other departments to develop, refine and implement learning programs that positively impact Chewy and Chewy learner metrics
- Build and/or revise learning programs that answer for both an improved learner experience and long-term business goals
- Demonstrate an ability to write strong, measurable and achievable learning objectives that tie learning deliverables to metrics
- Evolve the learning and development blended learning strategy while understanding the current state of Chewys learning and development programs
- Demonstrate a proficiency in adult learning theories and how to apply them to common business problems anchoring on results
- Develop and evangelize standard methodologies in training, constantly updating your knowledge based on industry trends and insights
- Be an inspiring leader in learning program design seeking to develop next standard learning programs.
- Effectively function as a senior business partner across the enterprise
What you'll need:
- A Bachelor's Degree or certification in Business, Talent Management, Performance Technology, Data Science, Instructional Design, Adult Learning, Education or similar field
- 10+ years of on-the-job application
- 3+ years in crafting, managing, and implementing learning strategies, leadership development, onboarding programs, along with tenured training program experiences at a program level
- 3+ years of experience leading a team or dotted line resources in instructional design. Doing this with vendors and outsourcing partners as well is a plus.
- Proven experience with Learning Program Design, Instructional Design, and performance consulting in cross group environments and the ability to drive business metric improvements
- Deep instructional design knowledge and the ability to convey sophisticated ID theories to internal collaborators in a way they can consume and support
- Experience conducting indepth learning and business analysis using various data sources, along with the ability to synthesize, summarize, and share recommendations based on quantitative and qualitative data sets
- Ability to connect learning programs to business results - based on the Philips ROI and/or Kirkpatrick evaluation models
- Proven experience with designing, developing, and delivering blended learning strategies for full programs/multiple programs and lines of business that are interrelated
- Experience coordinating and developing multiple programs at one time
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with peers, driving diverse workgroups to collaborative on solutions
- The ability to travel, 10% or more if business needs arise
