Job Title: Purchasing Manager – Lumber & Building Materials

About Us:
We’re a privately held company specializing in the sale of lumber and forest products for multi-family, commercial, and residential construction projects. With operations across the U.S., we support our customers through local branches, yards, and a remanufacturing facility.
What You’ll Do:
- Purchase lumber and building materials from mills and suppliers
- Manage inventory levels and accuracy across multiple branch locations
- Build vendor relationships and attend site visits and industry events
- Provide market insights, pricing updates, and weekly reports
- Coordinate with sales, logistics, and operations for smooth delivery and fulfillment
- Monitor trends, pricing, and demand to drive profitable purchasing decisions
What We’re Looking For:
- 7+ years of purchasing experience in the lumber commodity industry
- Strong relationships with mills and suppliers preferred
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; ERP/industry software experience a plus
- Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced, team-focused environment
- Knowledge of multi-family and commercial construction supply needs is a plus
