CTG's long-standing Fortune 500 client of over 15 years has a W2 contract assignment for a Drafting/CAD Technician II. Type: Contract Job Title: Drafting/CAD Technician II Location: Christiansburg, VA Candidates must be able to commute and work onsite in Christiansburg, VA Pay Rate: Based on experience Work Hours: M-F, 8am-5pm Education: 2-year technical degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, CAD/CAM, Manufacturing or equivalent experience with certificate of drafting Scope of Position: To provide design and drafting expertise to various areas of the plant in support of daily operations, continuous improvement, and cost reduction projects. Apply technical design knowledge and practices to effectively accomplish drawing assignments. Support initiatives aligned with department goals and directly contribute to manufacturing efficiency. Day to Day Responsibilities: Control all plant drawings and coordinate drawing activities Work directly with engineering and maintenance to source drawings for troubleshooting and resolving mechanical/electrical equipment issues Interface with Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering to develop and design equipment for manufacturing Ensure all project documentation is completed, including drawings, spare parts, procedures, preventive maintenance schedules, and calibration records Requirements: 2-year technical degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, CAD/CAM, Manufacturing or equivalent with certificate of drafting Minimum of 2 years in drafting/CAD technician roles Education: 2-year technical degree or equivalent experience with certificate of drafting Qualifications: Proficiency with SolidWorks or equivalent 3D software Proficiency in Excel Strong design and problem-solving abilities Ability to read and interpret technical drawings Ability to create full drawing packages and update detail drawings for projects/manufacturing Working knowledge of interpreting and implementing GD&T Strong teamwork and individual work capability Self-motivated with high commitment Technical curiosity and creativity for innovative design solutions Strong planning, organizational, and multitasking abilities Excellent verbal and written communication skills Desired Skills: Experience with AutoCAD design software Prior manufacturing work experience Hands-on knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems Advanced computer skills Experience with extrusion AM (3D printing) Familiarity with SolidWorks PDM or other drawing vault systems Additional Information: No third party resumes will be accepted Drug testing and/or other employment-related inquiries may be conducted CTG will consider for employment qualified applicants with criminal histories in a manner consistent with the requirements of all applicable local, state, and federal laws All interested individuals MUST be able to work on a W2 Tax basis (no C2C or third party vendors) CTG is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer CTG is an E-Verify Company To be considered for this opportunity, please apply directly through our website or email your Word version resume and salary expectations to ....
