Electrician And Instrumentation Technician

The Journeyman E/I will:

Maintain electrical distribution equipment and components

Troubleshoot and replace drives and inverters

Troubleshoot motors, PLCs, and field instruments such as flowmeters, pressure transmitters,

level transmitters, solenoids, and switches

Make preventative care rounds and lubricate a limited number of motors

Work with the shift millwright and operators to change motors, valves, etc. as needed

Troubleshoot and repair valves

Work with remote support to troubleshoot drives

Read and interpret PLC logic to help diagnose issues/troubleshoot problems

Tune control loops as needed

Record work results in written log and a computerized maintenance system

Work as part of a team and find solutions to issues and problems

Work safely and help others stay safe

Be able to assist in troubleshooting hydraulics

Communicate on radios and phones as needed to make repairs

Support a safe working environment by maintaining strict adherence to safety rules and

regulations and wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Responsible for

observing and complying with all safety and project rules

**Additional Skills & Qualifications**

Journeyman or proof of completion of related college or apprenticeship program required

5+ years of Instrumentation and Electrical experience in a production maintenance

environment. Equivalent military experience will be considered

Strong Electrical and Mechanical aptitude require

Basic understanding and capable of troubleshoot/repair Siemens Programable Logic

Controllers, SCADA, Ignition, and Siemens drives is strongly preferred

Ability to troubleshoot and repair mill wide electrical power systems, working with single phase

and 3-phase AC VAC 120/240, and 480 and working with DC voltages ranging from 12, 24 and

500 VDC

Computer skills including MS Office and ability to quickly learn new software used in the

department

Experience with variable frequency drives and field instruments (i.e., pressure, flow,

temperature, level and analytical transmitters, valve positioners, valve actuators and PID

controllers) is necessary

Ability to read and understand Electrical and Instrumentation Drawings and PLC Ladder Logic

An operational knowledge of automated industrial machinery including motors, solenoids,

servos, pumps, drives, relays, 3 phase power, communication devices, industrial / electronic

controls, and power transmission systems

A good understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems

Must be able to read and interpret both electrical and instrumentation drawings.

Must be fully computer literate with Microsoft environment

Good written and verbal communication skill

Capable of meeting physical requirements to include working weekends/holidays, of working a

rotating shift schedule, including weekends and overtime as needed, work around heat, noise,

both inside and outside

Applicable military experience/training will be considered.

Perform tasks such as lifting up to 50 lbs., walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or

pulling for up to 12 hours/day in a loud/noisy, hot, humid, sometimes dusty, and a high-volume

work environment.

The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $66560.00/yr.
