Job Overview
Dietzler Construction is looking for an experienced, civil engineering Construction Superintendent. This position is based in Denver or Berthoud, CO and will report to the VP, Construction.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Responsible for the overall safety of the site and all workers, including maintaining site safety manuals.
- Manage overall project costs and budget, resolve construction problems, lack of productivity, work interfaces.
- Work with Project Management to develop and maintain master schedule, site specific work, logistics and safety plans.
- Provide leadership, establish and maintain an effective working relationship with internal and external partners.
- Conduct pre-construction meetings, weekly coordination meetings with subcontractors, owners, engineers and consultants.
- Ability to read and comprehend contracts, purchase agreements, contract details for the project, coordinating subcontractor and supplier scope.
- Determine site logistics for site access, temporary roads, fencing, etc. and arrange temporary services, primary surveying and horizontal control.
- Determine methods of construction, manpower levels, material quantities, equipment, temporary power sources, work schedules and document actual hours worked.
- Identify talent needs, interview and make employment decisions on site crews.
- Supervise company employees assigned to the project.
- Ensure equipment needs at job site are met.
- Complete and submit timely daily documentation and other paperwork required.
- Other duties that may be assigned.
Qualifications
- 8-10 years of civil construction supervision and/or craft supervision experience on heavy civil construction projects, preferably structures, earthwork, wet utilities, bridge and dam construction
- Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction technology, equipment, and methods; craft agreements, jurisdiction, and negotiations; engineering, cost control schedules, and safety
- Excellent communication, organizational, and supervisory skills
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw solid conclusions
- Intermediate knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook
- Four-year construction management/engineering degree or equivalent

Pay
- $105K-$140K/yr DOE
